Today, ABVP Jammu Mahanagar, in a resolute display of solidarity, staged a protest at the Cluster University VC office in Jammu, urging the postponement of exams due to an incomplete syllabus. Despite persistent appeals to the Vice Chancellor through memoranda, the exams have remained unaffected, prompting students to voice their concerns through peaceful demonstration.
Manik Goswami, Joint Secretary of ABVP Jammu Mahanagar, expressed his disappointment, stating, “It’s disheartening that our pleas for a postponed exam due to an incomplete syllabus have gone unanswered. Students deserve a fair chance to complete their studies.”
Piyush Gupta (Joint Secretary ABVP Jammu Mahanagar) stated, “Postponing exams is not just about convenience; it’s about the quality of education. We demand a fair and conducive environment for learning.”
Harish Sharma, Joint Secretary of ABVP Jammu Mahanagar, emphasized the need for the educational system to prioritize students’ learning conditions. He stated, “We are here to ensure that their voices are heard and acted upon. The academic well-being of students must be at the forefront of our educational priorities.”
The ABVP activists present at the protest included Piyush Gupta (Seh Mantri), Manik Goswami (Seh Mantri), Harish Sharma (Seh Mantri), Ganesh Bharadwaj (Social Media Incharge), Divyansh Janyal (Office Secretary), Varun Manhas (GGM Science College President), Raman Khajuria (College Secretary), Rajan (Working President), Tushar Pandey (SPMR College President), Rupal Rajput (SPMR College Secretary), Lucky Sharma (College Vice President), Eklavya Shalatia, Arun Sharma, Atul Verma, Nitin Talwaria, and many more dedicated individuals.
The protest, which lasted for approximately two hours, drew the attention of university administration representatives. Subsequently, discussions took place, and the administration requested time until the evening to thoroughly consider the matter. In a display of trust, the students decided to temporarily halt the protest, providing the administration with the requested time for a decision.
The ABVP urges the administration of Cluster University of Jammu to acknowledge the legitimate concerns of students and reconsider the decision to proceed with exams amid incomplete syllabi. The organization remains committed to championing the rights of students and fostering an environment where their academic pursuits are not compromised.
