JKHC Bar Association welcomes distinguished members of CAT, Jammu Bench

The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu (JKHCBAJ) extended a warm welcome to the esteemed members of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), including Hon’ble Mr. B Anand Administrative Member, Hon’ble Mr. Sanjeev Gupta Judicial Member, and Hon’ble Mr. Rajinder Singh Dogra Judicial Member in the Bar Hall, High Court Complex, Jammu.
The gathering marks a significant occasion for collaborative engagement between the Bar and Bench furthering the established norm that collective experience and wisdom present contribute to the richness of our legal community. The ceremony begun with a formal presentation of floral bouquets to the worthy members of the CAT, Jammu Bench by the Junior and Senior members of the Bar.
The event commenced with warm welcome to the senior members and colleagues from JKHCBAJ, recognising their invaluable contributions to the legal fraternity. The President of JKHCBAJ, Senior Advocate Sh. Vikram Sharma addressed the gathering, adding a distinguished perspective to the dialogue.
Parvesh Singh Salaria, General Secretary of JKHCBAJ, expressed enthusiasm about the unique opportunity for constructive dialogue and collaboration. “The presence of esteemed CAT members creates a platform for meaningful exchange and mutual enrichment,” he stated.
During the interaction, members engaged in discussions about the challenges faced by the legal fraternity when handling cases at CAT, particularly due to technical hitches in online proceedings.
The members collectively emphasized the need to address these challenges, highlighting the importance of raising these concerns with the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Discussions also revolved around the existing infrastructure issues at the CAT building, such as parking constraints and the congested building space-inadequate for working atmosphere. Members emphasized the urgency of addressing these concerns to enhance the working environment for legal professionals. The occasion emphasized the significance of fostering cooperation and understanding between legal professionals. The event aims to encourage an exchange of ideas and experiences, shaping the future course of the legal community in Jammu and Kashmir. Those present in the gathering appreciated the concerns of the Bar Association ably represented by its President Sr. Adv. Sh. Vikram Sharma, who also assured that his team will make sure that the CAT Bench Jammu gets adequate space, building and infrastructure so that the physical hearing starts at the earliest for the better of CAT’s functioning and effective deliberation.
As the event unfolds, the vice President JKHCBAJ Sh. Amit Gupta along with Sh. Chetan Misri Joint Secretary and Sh. Utkarsh Pathania Treasurer welcomes this opportunity to strengthen the bonds within the legal fraternity, appreciating the diversity of perspectives and experiences brought together in this collaborative environment.
