Make a comprehensive state plan for unsafe school buildings: Tony

General Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) and Member District Development Council (DDC) Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony while asserting that “Padey Ga India Tabi Tou Aggey Badey Ga India” has urged the Union Territory Administration to formulate a comprehensive plan for the unsafe schools across Jammu and Kashmir that have become threat to the students studying in such schools. He expressed this in his address while kick-starting the development work at Govt Girls High School, Village Seer Balah in Suchetgarh here today.
Taking stock of the functioning of this Govt School, Taranjit Singh Tony urged the authorities in the Education Department to fix the roaster of ZEOs and CEOs in order to physically monitor the schools. He said that these ZEOs and CEOs should come out their office chambers to check the functioning of the schools. He asserted that education is the most important sector for guaranteeing an educated India. He appealed to the Commissioner Secretary Education to develop comprehensive plans for unsafe buildings as the parents never send their wards to Govt Schools amidst threat to their precious lives. He said that many parents have conveyed to him that they fear building collapse when they sending their wards to Govt Schools having unsafe buildings.
The senior Congress leader also urged the authorities to conduct surprise inspection of schools in order to physically check the attendance of school staff especially the teachers as many teachers remain absent in schools continuously without any proper leave or permission thus adversely affecting the education of the children studying in these schools.
He said that Biometric Attendance rules should be immediately implemented in border areas where regular inspections are not easily possible. He also insisted on making the roster of the authorities conducting inspections as well as the action taken reports public besides informing PRIs so that the best education system prevails in J&K.
