NMC urges LG Admin to release pending installment of 4% DA

National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) President SubashShastri today appealed J&K Lieutenant Governor and Chief Secretary to release the pending instalment of four percent DA due from July this year in favour of J&K Government employees and pensioners as the same has been released by the Central as well as several States and Ladakh Governments to their employees and pensioners.
“We appealed to UT J&K LG and Chief Secretary to release of four per cent said DA in favour of J&K employees and pensioners.”
In view of increasing inflation and price hike of essential commodities,” Shastri said while addressing a meeting of NMC activists here. He urged them to take decision in this regard at the earliest so that employees and pensioners would get sigh of relief from rising prices of essential commodities.
He also demanded exemption of DA from ambit of Income Tax as it is linked with price index.
Shastri also urged Prime Minister to appoint chairman and other members of the 8th pay commission and take decision at the earliest and start discussion with representatives of both Central and State governments employees and pensioners, organizations, adding that the appoint of 8th Pay commission will end confusion and uncertainty among the employees and pensioners on this issue once for all.
Stressing on the need Shastri also urged him to immediately restore old pension scheme in place of NPS as confidence building measures. He said that many states like Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Karnataka and Sikkim have restored old pension scheme in favor of NPS Employees.
He hoped that the NDA Government at the center will take positive step in this regard, adding that these will be a major political issue in the upcoming general election 2024.
Urging the PM to declare both Jammu and Srinagar as B-1 Cities, Shastri said, giving the status to both capital cities would ensure more flow of funds to upgrade infrastructure and modernize civic amenities.
Other demands raised by Shastri included separate wage head for regularly disbursement of monthly salary to daily rated workers till their regularization, enhancement of their wages to Rs. 600 per day, regularisation of their services under SRO 64, clearance of all pending GP fund cases and gratuity setting up of Labour Welfare Board, implementation of all Central Laws in J&K besides granting Medical Allowance of Rs. 1000 per month to pensioners at par with Central Government.
Release of 18 per cent DA arrears to employees working in both Central and UT Governments was also demanded. RajanBabu Khajuria, B.SJamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ramesh Sharma, Sarpanch Suk-hdev Singh, Darshan Baba, Ghara Ram, Mohammad Sadiq, Mushtaq Ahmed, Tarsem Sharma, Ram Singh, Raman Sharma, Ashok Khajuria and others were also present in the meeting.
