As an integral part of the transformative Back to Village-V Program, Rachna Sharma, Secretary in Social Welfare Department embarked on a significant visit to Panchayat Panthal in Reasi district.
DDC, Rajinder Kumar Mengi, ADDC Reasi Jyoti Slathia, ACD Reasi Anirudh Rai, CDPO of Pouni Lekha Basin, BDO Block Panthal besides other field functionaries from various departments accompanied her during the tour. A Gram Sabha was conducted which was chaired by the Secretary Rachna Sharma. The Gram Sabha served as a platform where a spectrum of grievances resonated and were promptly brought to the attention of ADDC Reasi for immediate redressal. A resolute pledge toward the Swachh Bharat initiative was collectively undertaken during this session, symbolizing a shared commitment to cleanliness and community welfare. Concurrently, a conscientious plantation drive was set into motion within the Panchayat, fostering a sustainable and eco-friendly ethos.
Rachna Sharma undertook a meticulous inspection of the ongoing developmental works within the Panchayat, ensuring that progress aligned seamlessly with the community’s evolving needs.
She also visited Government Higher Secondary School, Panthal, where she inspected the premises and also interacted with the students. The school resonated with a vibrant tapestry of cultural events, intellectual discourses through debates and seminars, and the rich tapestry of folk programs, all orchestrated by the proactive school authorities.
During her address, the Secretary navigated critical social issues such as drug addiction and women’s empowerment.
