The jawans noticed some movement at the IB late on Wednesday night. After this he became alert. Seeing the movement on the border, the security forces challenged the intruder but he continued to move towards the border. The soldiers killed him while taking action.
Efforts are on to identify him. Earlier in Poonch, security forces have arrested three terrorists by foiling a major conspiracy of infiltration and narco-terrorism along the Line of Control in Karmada sector.
10 kg IED (Improvised Explosive Device), AK 56 rifle, two pistols, six grenades and 30 kg heroin, hidden in an Afghani pressure cooker, have been recovered from them. During this, a terrorist and a jawan were injured in the firing that lasted for about one and a half hours.
Both have been admitted for treatment. According to a defense spokesperson, at around 1.30 am on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, 3 to 4 terrorists were seen trying to cross the fence on the Line of Control taking advantage of bad weather and heavy rains.
Seeing the security forces, the terrorists started firing. Firing continued from both the sides till about three o’clock. After the firing stopped, the security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation. Three terrorists were arrested along with an IED, weapons and heroin after blood trail was found at a location.
