AP&FWD Samba hosts Awareness cum Sensitization programme for Farmers’ Orientation

SAMBA, APRIL 20: Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Department Jammu, in collaboration with Allied departments and KVK Samba, organized a daylong awareness cum Sensitization programme to carry out Farmers’ Orientation during Kisan Sampark Abhiyan under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).

The programme was convened by the district Administration led by Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta and chaired by District Development Council Chairperson, Keshav Dutt Sharma in presence of District Development Council Vice Chairperson, DDC members, BDC Chairpersons and other PRI members.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer(Nodal Officer-HADP Samba) Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Scientist & Head KVK Samba, other District/ Sectoral Heads of various departments and all Block Development Officers were also present.

Addressing the participants, the District Development Commissioner issued directions to the Officers of different departments and representatives of PRIs present in the meeting to attend the training programmes for availing and harvesting maximum benefits from the Govt. Sponsored schemes and Projects formulated under HADP.

She added that a 3-day awareness camp will be organized in each panchayat across the district to sensitize and acquaint farmers with opportunities offered under different schemes of Agriculture and allied sectors under HADP.

The DC emphasized upon the Sectoral Officers of Agriculture and allied departments to give the programme wide publicity so that mass participation of the farming community can be assured.

The District Development Council Chairperson, while speaking on the occasion, stressed upon the Officers to ensure that during these training programmes the farmers are fully acquainted with the guidelines of the schemes. He also stressed upon the Sarpanches to ensure maximum participation of the farmers to make this Orientation Programme a great success.
