District Special Branch (DSB) has arrested a youth for smuggling heroin. Police recovered two grams of heroin from the possession of the accused. A case under NDPS Act was registered against the accused at Domana police station.
DSB jawans got information that Sunil Kumar alias Sonu resident jodiyan Akhnoor is living in Hazuri Bagh, Talab Tillo these days and is involved in smuggling of narcotic drug heroin. On this information, the DSB personnel and the Pounichak police started monitoring the activities of Sunil Kumar.
On Thursday morning, as soon as Sunil was carrying heroin from Talab Tillo, the police personnel stopped him. During his search, a packet was recovered from him. Heroin was lying inside the packet. He was taken to the Paunichakk police post for further action. Two grams of heroin was recovered from the packet, which was sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for examination. The accused is being questioned as to where did he get the heroin from and to whom he was going to give it.
It is worth mentioning that the Jammu Police has launched a special campaign against drug traffickers. On Wednesday, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the police recovered 98 kg of Bhukki from a truck going from Kashmir to Punjab during the blockade in the Sidra area. Apart from this, the Gandhi Nagar police had caught two people with about 14 kg of Bhukki.
The arrested accused had come to sell this drug Bhukki from Kashmir to Jammu. His revelations will lead to the arrest of some more people. Let us tell you that the police have tightened their grip against drug smugglers in Jammu and Kashmir.
