Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two militant associates of the Jaish-i-Mohammad outfit in the south Kashmir Pulwama district.
A police spokesman said that the accused duo had been identified as Umer Ramzan, son of Mohammad Ramzan Wani of Brabandina, and Javid Ahmad Malla, son of Ali Mohammad of Khelan were held with “incriminating material of JeM” by Pulwama police with the assistance of 55 RR and 182 Bn CRPF.
The two, police said, were involved in providing shelter, logistics and other support to the militants and transporting of arms/ ammunition and explosive material for the militants in Awantipora and Tral areas.
Besides, it added that the arrested militant associates were in touch with JeM commanders.
A Case under relevant sections of law stands registered against them in Police Station Litter, police said.
