The state government has issued notification of government holidays in Jammu and Kashmir in 2022. This time also, the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh has not found a place in the list on September 23. According to the notification issued by Rohit Sharma, Additional Secretary, General Administrative Department, there will be 28 state-level holidays in the year 2022. On Sunday, January 9, there will be a holiday on the Prakashotsav of Guru Gobind Singh. Republic Day on Wednesday, January 26, Mahashivratri and Shav-e Meraj on March 1, Navroz on March 21, April 2 will be a holiday on the first Navratri.
Ram Navami on April 10, Baisakhi on April 14 and Dr BR Ambedkar Jayanti will be a holiday. Likewise, Shab-e Qadr and Jamaat-ul-Vida on April 29, Eid on May 3, Buddha Purnima on May 16, and the festival of lights of Guru Hargobind Ji on June 15 will be a holiday.
Eid-ul-Adha on 10th and 11th July, Ashura on August 8, Independence Day on Monday, August 15, Janmashtami on August 19, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, Mahanavami on October 4, Dussehra on October 5, Eid on October 8. E Milad Un Nabi, October 24 will be Diwali and October 26 will be the holiday of Vilas Diwas.
On November 8, the festival of lights of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, on December 25, Christmas and on December 29, there will be a holiday for the celebration of lights of Guru Gobind Singh.
The divisional holidays of Kashmir include Friday after Shav-e Meraj on March 4, Mela Kheer Bhawani on June 8, Urs of Shah-e Hamdan Sahib on July 6 and Urs of Sheikh Noor-ud-din Sahib on October 22.
