Fully vaccinated woman dies, 22 new cases in Jammu

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH : Two persons died of COVID-19 and 108 tested positive in Jammu and Kashmir while 31 fresh cases were reported in the Union Territory of Ladakh today. One COVID casualty and 22 cases were registered in Jammu division while one fatality and 86 cases were recovered in Kashmir valley.

A 62-year-old woman, who was fully vaccinated, died of COVID-19 and co-morbidities in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu today. She hailed from Saraswati Vihar in Talab Tillo area of Jammu.
With this, COVID casualties in Jammu region have gone up to 2186 and in Jammu district to 1152. Deaths in other districts include 238 in Rajouri, 152 Kathua, 137 Udhampur, 133 Doda, 120 Samba, 100 Poonch, 67 Ramban, 44 Kishtwar and 43 in Reasi district.
Among 22 fresh cases in Jammu region, 11 were reported from Jammu district, seven Doda, two Rajouri and one each in Kathua and Poonch districts.
Thirty persons recovered from the virus.
Jammu region now has 1,25,385 Coronavirus cases. Among them, 1,22,769 have recovered from the virus while there have been 2186 casualties. Number of the active positive cases stood at 430.
The Union Territory of Ladakh today reported 31 new COVID positive cases including 29 in Leh district and two in Kargil.
Among the positives in Leh were seven students, five Healthcare workers, four Government employees and three Army personnel.
Number of active positive cases in Ladakh now stood at 295—272 in Leh and 23 in Kargil district.
Corona count in Ladakh has gone up to 21714. While 21204 persons have recovered, there are 215 casualties—157 in Leh and 58 in Kargil district.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 86 fresh cases of COVID-19.
One person died of COVID infection today taking the death toll to 4483 including 2297 in Kashmir.
Srinagar reported 40 cases, Baramulla 11, Budgam 4, Pulwama 9, Kupwara 6, Anantnag 2, Bandipora 6, Ganderbal 7 and Kulgam 1.

Moreover, 151 Covid-19 patients recovered including 121 from Kashmir.
So far 331771 patients have recovered, leaving active case tally at 1661 including 1231 in Kashmir.
