99 young soldiers join Ladakh Scouts Regiment

SRINAGAR: Ninety nine young soldiers have joined Ladakh Scouts Regiments. Giving details in a statement , PRO Defence, Col Emron Musavi, said an attestation parade was held in this connection at the Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre, Leh on Wednesday.

The parade was held to mark the entry of 99 recruits into the Ladakh Scouts Regiment as young soldiers. “It was a proud moment for parents of these young soldiers who witnessed the passing out parade of their brave sons, which could not be done since Mar 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic. The attestation parade was conducted with all Covid protocols in the true traditions of the Indian Army.

The parade was reviewed by Col Rinchen Dorje, Commandant Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre,” the spokesman said. He added that the young soldiers, hailing from all regions of Ladakh, took the oath, to serve the nation. “The reviewing officer congratulated them for the impressive parade and urged them to devote their life in service to the nation as proud soldiers of the Indian army.

He exhorted the young soldiers to continue to strive hard in pursuit of excellence in all spheres and take a solemn vow to uphold the sovereignty of the nation against all odds in the true spirit signified by the ethos of the Indian Army,” the defence spokesman added. He said the young riflemen were also awarded medals for their outstanding performance during training.

It was indeed a proud moment for the recruits as well as their parents who hail from far flung areas to join the Ladakh Scouts Regiment as young soldiers, the spokesman added.
