JAMMU: Forest Department has retrieved 600 kanals of its land which falls in Compartment Number 03 from the encroachers in Forest Division Bhaderwah.
Forest Officials said that the land was illegally encroached by some locals from the last 20 years. The encroachment was removed by the Forest Department team headed by Range Officer Chiralla Iftakhar Ahmad Bhatti under the supervision of Chander Shaikher Divisional Forest Officer Bhaderwah and Conservator of Forests Chenab Circle Satpal Pakru.
According to Range Officer, 600 kanals (30 hectares) encroached forest land was retrieved from the encroachers and 7 illegal kacha and permanent structures of about 15 to 20 years old were demolished.
“Retrieving forest land from illegal occupations was part of anti-encroachment drive launched by Chiralla Forest Range”, Bhatti added.
