Full dress rehearsal for 75th I-Day celebration held across Jammu division

JAMMU: Full dress rehearsal for 75th Independence Day function was today held in all districts of Jammu Division with traditional fervour and patriotic zeal. Rehearsal events witnessed hoisting of National Flag, inspection of Parade comprising contingents of police, Para Military personnel, NCC cadets, besides presentation of cultural programmes by school children amid strict adherence to Covid Appropriate Behaviour.

At Doda: Full dress rehearsal in connection with the celebrations of Independence Day 2021 was held here at Sports Stadium . Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr R K Bharti, after inspection of the parade took salute at the march past comprising contingents drawn from the JKP, IRP 5th Bn, CRPF, SSB, FPF, Schools children, NCC Sr and Jr wing and District Police band. While inspecting the March past contingents, he directed them to rectify the minor deficiencies. Screening of Cultural Programme was also conducted on the occasion, in which only 03 schools have qualified to present their items at the main Independence Day function. ADC Doda briefly highlighted the relevance of the National festival and stressed on adherence of Covid-19 safety measures during the Independence Day celebrations, besides expressing hope for better coordination among all quarters in making the national event successful.

Superintendent of Police Bhaderwah, Assistant Superintendent of Police District Headquarter, DPEO , District Youth Services Sports Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police DAR, Cultural Officer, besides other senior officers of Police and Civil Administration were also present on the occasion. Similarly, full dress rehearsal for Independence Day celebrations was also held at New Bus Stand Bhaderwah, in which Tehsildar Bhaderwah Ajay Saraf unfurled the tricolour and took salute at the March past presented by the CRPF 33 Bn, JKAP, NCC Sr and Jr division. At Kathua: The full dress rehearsal for 75th Independence Day was held at Kathua in Sports Stadium where contingents comprising Police, CRPF, Army, NCC cadets presented the march past. The rehearsal started with hoisting of National Flag by Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav followed by inspection of the Parade. In his address, the Deputy Commissioner greeted people on behalf of district administration.

He also highlighted achievements registered by different departments in the district during the current financial year, besides appreciating the relentless efforts of health, police, and employees of different departments to contain the spread of Covid-19. He said it is our duty to safeguard the hard fought independence by doing our duties with honesty and dedication. On the occasion, a scintillating cultural programme depicting the rich cultural diversity of the country and featuring patriotic songs on the sacrifices of freedom fighters were presented by school and college students. Senior Superintendent of Police, R.C Kotwal; Additional District Development Commissioner Puneet Sharma; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Atul Gupta besides other senior officers of district administration were present on the occasion. At Samba: Full dress rehearsal for Independence Day (ID) programme was held today at Rani Suchait Singh Sports Stadium, Arazi amidst great fanfare, enthusiasm and patriotic zeal.

The Independence Day witnessed participation of a large number of locals amid strict adherence to Covid SOPs. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Suram Chand Sharma hoisted the National Tricolour at 0855 hours and inspected the parade. In his address, the ADC outlined the achievements and challenges faced by District Samba. The full dress rehearsal also saw participation of students in a colourfull cultural programme featuring patriotic and folk songs and dance. Senior Superintended of Police, Rajesh Sharma; Additional District Development Commissioner T R Shastri; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, besides other District and Sectoral Officers were also present. The rehearsal was held amid due observance of Covid Safety protocols. At Ramban: Full dress rehearsal for 75th Independence Day celebration was held here at Government Model Higher Secondary School, Ramban.

Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Rajinder Sharma hoisted the National Flag and inspected the parade comprising contingents of Military band, Police, CRPF and IRP. The ADDC was satisfied with the arrangements made by various departments for smooth celebrations of I-Day. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Sharma; Additional Superintendent Police, Rajni Sharma; ACR, Dhirendra Sharma, Dy. SP Headquarter, Rajinder Singh and other officers were also present on the occasion. The proceedings of the programme were ably conducted by Parshotam Singh and Raj Singh Raju. At Kishtwar: The full dress rehearsal was conducted here in the premises of New DC office Complex, ahead of the I-Day Celebrations 2021. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kishori Lal hoisted the National Flag, inspected the Parade and took salute at the march past comprising contingents of District Police, CRPF, CISF,IRP, Forest protection force, NCC (Boys and Girls contingents) from GDC Kishtwar and Home guards.

The rehearsal event was held with due observance of the COVID19 protocol. A melodious National Anthem presentation by Government Girls Higher Secondary School Band was one of the major attractions. Speaking on the occasion, the ADC congratulated the people of Kishtwar and recalled the sacrifices made by freedom fighters to secure independence for the country. Senior Superintendent of police, Shafqat Hussain; Additional District Development Commissioner Sham Lal; Additional Superintendent of Police Rajinder Singh; Tehsildar, Pramood Kumar; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Anoop Kumar, besides other district officers were also present on the occasion. At Rajouri: The full dress rehearsal for the Independence Day celebration was successfully held here on Friday under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh K Shavan. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sachin Dev Singh hoisted the National Flag and took salute at an impressive march past of contingents drawn from Police, CRPF, Forest Protection Force, NCC and students of different educational institutions besides Police Band took part in a full dress rehearsal held at District Police Line Rajouri. The COVID19 protocols were duly followed while performing different activities related to the function to avoid the risk of infection.

The school students also presented a scintillating cultural programme based on the theme of patriotism, culture and heritage and social issues, which was highly liked by the audience present on the occasion. A pledge to make the district free of drugs and follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour was also taken by the participants during the event. The event was well coordinated and managed by the stage secretaries Sumit Bhargav and Dr Anum Mirza. Among the others present were ADDC, Pawan Kumar; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; CEO Education, Gulzar Hussain; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; DIO, Narinder Kumar; District Culture Officer, Dr Alam Dar; DYSSO, District Youth Officer, Nitin Hangloo; CDPO Rajouri, Naseer Ahmed and other officers were present in the Independence Day Full Dress rehearsal. At Poonch: Full dress Rehearsal was held at Sports Stadium Poonch where Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr.Basharat Hussain, hoisted the National Flag and inspected the Parade DIPR Poonch organized an awareness campaign on COVID Appropriate Behaviour during the event.

The ADC took the salute at the march past presented by the contingents of CRPF, JKP, JKAP, J&K Police( QRT Commander), JKHG, NCC Govt. Degree College, Poonch, NSS Volunteers Govt. Degree College Poonch and Band Party. The School children and artists of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages presented a colourful cultural programme. District Information Centre Poonch under the supervision of District Information Officer, Manjeet Singh also organized an awareness campaign on COVID Appropriate Behaviour during the full dress rehearsal. ASP, Liaqat Chowdhary; Parade Commander, Dysp DAR, Sachin Gupta; DYSP, Operation, Manish Sharma; Dysp Head Qtr.Nawaz Ahmed besides administrative and sports officers were present on the occasion. At Reasi: Full dress rehearsal for the 75th Independence Day was held here at Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium on Friday. On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdul Star hoisted the National Flag and inspected the Parade comprising contingents of J&K Police, CRPF, IRP, JK Home Guards, NCC Boys and Girls cadets. The students of Girls Higher Secondary School Reasi started the programme by singing the National Anthem. A cultural programme was also presented by the students of Girls HSS featuring patriotic songs and folk dance and music. ACR Sanjay Badyal; ACD Anirudh Rai; DSWO Gulshan Kumar Sharma; DYSSO Subash Chander; Tehsildar Reasi Munshi Ram; CMO Dr Rajeev Kumar Sharma; CEO Mohd Aziz; XEn PWD Janak Raj and other district officers were also present at the event. At Udhampur: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib hoisted the National Flag and took salute at an impressive march past presented by 9 contingents comprising J&K Police, SKPA,CRPF, Home Guards, NCC cadets besides Police Band here at full Dress Rehearsal held on the grounds of Government PG Degree College (Boys).

The Full Dress Rehearsal commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by the DC at 9: AM followed by the National Anthem. Additional Superintendent of Police, Anwar Ul Haq; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Viqar Ahmed Giri; District Information Officer, Ateeksha Sethi; Chief Education Officer, Arvin Koul; DYSSO, S. Swarn Singh; Tehsildar Udhampur Amit Verma; Dy SP HQ besides heads of Various Departments and civil society members were present on the occasion. In her address, the DC greeted the participants and public on the eve of 75th Independence Day. Highlighting the sacrifice of Freedom fighters, she said they won freedom from colonial rule after a prolonged struggle. “Independence Day is not only a National Day but it also binds the diversities of the country into a single whole,” she added. She reiterated that this day reminds us of freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the dignity and freedom of the motherland.

The DC also highlighted the various achievements registered by different departments during the current financial year. She informed that the Government of India has launched several social welfare schemes and appealed to the people to come forward and avail the benefits of the same.
