JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer on Wednesday visited Mini Stadium Parade and inspected the ongoing development works being executed to up-grade the sports ground.

The stadium located in the centre of Jammu city is witnessing massive renovation and up-gradation being executed by the Sports Council with an estimated cost of Rs 5 crore. On the occasion, the Engineers of Sports Council briefed the Div Com about the status of works upgrading work of the playfield, Main Pavilion, drainage network besides other works.

The Div Com expressed his dismay over the slow pace of work and asked the executing agency to expedite the pace by working in double shifts to complete the project within the stipulated time frame. The Div Com directed the concerned engineers to create specified entry and exit points and improve the drainage system around the stadium. He asked the authorities of the Sports Council to monitor the progress on a regular basis to ensure timely completion of the works and submit a weekly progress report in this regard.

The Div Com said that the Government of UT is committed to upgrade existing Sports infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir to provide adequate facilities to the sports persons.
