REASI: Reasi Police has arrested an absconding accused of kidnapping and raping a minor in 2019. Accused Shabir Ahmed, son of Mohd Yousaf of Bagga Mahore, was absconding in case FIR number 41/2019, dated 29/07/2019, under section 363, 376-D, 343, 452, RPC, 4- POSCO Act at Police Station Chassana.
The accused evaded investigation by going underground and couldn’t be apprehended since the registration of FIR in 2019 as he was changing his hideouts in the south Kashmir, mostly in militancy infested areas. Few days back, he had escaped from police raids in Shopian district of Kashmir valley. A warrant under Section 512 CrPC was issued by the Court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Reasi against the accused on 11/12/2019. By meticulously planning & coordinated efforts in repeated raids, Reasi Police chased the accused till his arrest.
Police had last month arrested accused Mohd Tahir, who was also absconding in the said case FIR whereas other accused namely Nazir Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed, Ghulam Qadir, Farid Ahmed and Abdul Qayoom were already arrested and are behind the bars since their arrest.
