Body of 17-year-old Recovered From Jhelum After 6 Days in Srinagar

The body of a 17-year-old boy, who drowned on May 21, was recovered on Thursday morning from the river Jhelum in the Guzarbal area of Noorbagh in Srinagar. The boy was identified as Moomin Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rehman Dar of Chattabal. Moomin was a class 11th student.

A rescue operation was launched for the past six days to recover his body. As per the officials, the body will be handed over to the family after the legal formalities.

While talking to the media, an officer of river police said, “on May 21, we received the information about a boy who was crossing the river fell into it. Today we were on patrol when we got the news that a dead body was seen floating in the river. When we reached the spot, we noticed that the body was of the boy he drowned on May 21. After recovering the dead body, we informed the police station Noorbagh, and we handed over the dead body to them.”
