JAMMU: Gharota, Channi Himmat, RS Pura, Belicharana Ramgarh, Samba and SIDCO Police seized 14 vehicles involved in illegal mining and arrested five persons.
As per police sources, teams from Police Station Gharota, Police Station Channi Himmat, Police Station RS Pura and Police Post Belicharana on specific inputs raided at different locations in their respective areas and seized eight different vehicles involved in illegal mining. The mining was done in violation of order of High Court of J&K. In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law, Jammu Police has initiated strict action.
Meanwhile, teams from Police Station Ramgarh, Police Station Samba and Police Post SIDCO seized 6 vehicles and arrested five persons for illegal mining, transportation of construction material and violation of Corona Curfew.
The arrested persons were identified as Surat Singh, son of Basant Singh of Pakhri, Ramgarh (owner of the land), Maqsood Ahmed (driver), son of Mohammad Sadiq of Ranjari, Moti Mohammad (driver), son of Sadiq Hussain of Patti Vijaypur, Sohan Lal (driver), son of Shallo Ram of Ramnagar Udhampur and Rajesh Kumar (driver), son of Puran Chand of Ranjari Vijaypur. Ramgarh, Samba and SIDCO Police have taken cognizance.
