REASI: District Police Reasi conducted major strike on illicit liquor manufactures as well as smugglers and arrested 36 bootleggers, destroyed 6000 litres of Lahan and seized more than 150 litres of hooch in last 36 hours.
Thirty three new case FIRs have been registered in six police stations of district Reasi. This raw liquor had the potential of preparing 2000 litres of hooch. The operation was launched under the banner “Ek Yudh Nashe Ke Virudh” under the supervision of SSP Reasi, Shailender Singh in every nook and corner of District Reasi. Sharing the information in this regard during a hurriedly called press conference, here today, SSP Reasi Shailender Singh said that teams of Police Station Arnas conducted series of raids in Arnas area in which 16 bootleggers were arrested, for which FIR number 33 to 48/2021 were registered under Excise Act against the criminals.
The arrested accused were identified as Krishan Singh son of Dharam Singh of Thanole, Updesh Singh son of Bikru of Arnas, Kuldeep Singh son of Ram Saran of Chakalwala Thanool, Sukhdev Singh son of Suba Ram of Lada Thanool, Seta Ram son of Sarwan of Sawlakote, Romesh Chand son of Prem Chand of Kanthi Arnas, Prem Singh son of Moti Ram of Matlote, Geta Devi of Kanthan Arnas, Suneeta Devi of Kanthan Arnas, Angrez Singh son of Punjab Singh of Kanthan Arnas, Jagdish Singh son of Beer Singh of Duga Arnas, Baldev Singh son of Sarwan Mal of Jij Kaseeri and Mopha Ram son of Napha of Dhanour Arnas. In Sub-Division Reasi, series of raids were conducted in Salal, Bhomag, Dera Baba, Talwara, Pouni and Bhambla area and 16 bootleggers were arrested. FIR numbers 102 to 111/2021 under 48(a)(e) Excise Act have been registered in this connection at Police Station Reasi.
The accused arrested in these cases at Police Station Reasi, were identified as Charan Singh son of Baldev, Gulvinder Singh son of Baldev Singh, Surjeet Singh son of Gulvinder Singh of Bhabber Brahmna, Tirlok Chand son of Ram Saran of Tanda Reasi, Chutki son of Hans Raj of Bhabber, Khreb Singh son of Sansar Chand of Surjan Dhar, Puran Singh son of Rocky Ram of Prankot Tehsil Thakrakote, at present Migrant colony camp Talwara, Lal Singh son of Dhram Singh Rajput of Kanthi Pallad Tehsil Thooru, A/P Migrant colony camp Talwara, Raj Kumar son of Sansar Chand of Surjan Dhar Tehsil Bhomag, Jagdish Singh son of Sansar Chand of Surjan Dhar Tehsil Bhamag, Kuldeep Singh son of Gulab Singh of Salal Khad, Kulla Devi of Salal Khad and Mohan Singh son of Charn Dass Thakur of Sarotkot. Similarly, in Police station Pouni, FIR number 22, 23 and 24 of 2021 were registered under Excise Act and three bootleggers namely Karan Singh son of Hem Singh of Bullian Pouni, Ratan Singh son of Chattu Ram of Bharkh Pouni and Kali Dass son of Sita Ram of Bhambla were arrested.
In Mahore and Chassana area, FIR number 16, 23 and 24 have been lodged under Excise Act against three criminals namely Jarnail Singh son of Baldev Singh of Chassana, Kamlesh Singh son of Dewan Singh of Mahore and Baljeet Singh son of Puran Singh of Bathoie Furthermore, one FIR number 84/2021 was registered under Excise Act against Raghubir Singh son of Bachiter Singh of Katra.
