4 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, cannabis

JAMMU: Bahu Fort Police arrested four drug peddlers and recovered heroin and cannabis from their possession.

As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by SI Mohammad Iqbal under the supervision of SDPO East Bikram Kumar laid a naka and intercepted two persons, who were moving under suspicious circumstances. During checking, police team recovered 55 grams heroin from the possession of the persons and arrested them.

The arrested persons were identified as Irshad Ahmed, son of Ghulam Ahmed and Tariq Ahmed, son of Abdul Rehman, both residents of Damhal Hanjipura, District Kulgam. A case under FIR Number 120/21 under Section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started. Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Khour led by SHO Inspector Balwinder Singh laid a naka at Prangla Khad and apprehended two persons along with 160 grams cannabis.

The arrested persons were identified as Rohit Singh alias Johni, son of Jagdesh Singh of Naiwala Camp Tehsil Akhnoor and Rohit Samotra, son of Pritam Lal Sharma of Bhalwal Brahmana.

A case under FIR Number 23/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Khour and investigation initiated.
