UDHAMPUR: In order to deal with the crime against women, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur Sargun Shukla inaugurated a Help Desk for women at Police Station Rehmbal.
Sahil Mahajan DySP Headquarter Udhampur, Inspector Chaman Gorka, Inspector Jaswinder Singh and other police officials of District Udhampur were present on the occasion.
While inaugurating the Women Help Desk at Rehmbal, SSP said that this Help Desk shall provide a comprehensive platform to women to highlight their issues before police authorities in a hassle free manner, especially in cases relating to heinous crime. Moreover, the contact numbers of Help Desk are also shared. SSP Sargun Shukla also directed the officers that addressing crime against women and girls has to be on the top priority.
Locals of the area said that Help Desk was much needed to assure women that their voice will be heard and timely action will be taken.
