UDHAMPUR: Following initiation of enquiry into complaints against SDPO Ramnagar and re-instatement of the suspended cop as well as restoring duty of attached SPOs, people of Ramnagar on Wednesday called off their two-day long indefinite shutdown against alleged Police nexus with bovine smugglers.
DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Sujit Kumar along with SSP Udhampur Sargun Shukla personally visited the agitating people and issued on the spot orders pacifying the protesters. As per an order, issued by the DIG, a fact finding enquiry is initiated into various complaints against SDPO Ramnagar G R Bhardwaj. The enquiry has been entrusted to Addl SP Udhampur who shall submit his findings within a fortnight for further necessary action.
According to separate order, issued by SSP Sargun Shukla, SgCt Mohd Ashraf of Police Station Ramnagar, who was placed under suspension on March 11, is re-instated into service with immediate effect pending enquiry into his conduct.
