REASI: Indian Army has launched several welfare activities to improve the quality of life of Awam and provide basic infrastructure/training/facilities to enhance the career prospects, livelihood, especially of the girls/women through Sadhbhavana projects.
Sadhbhavana projects have brought everyone together, irrespective of caste, creed and religion. The Army conducted a tailoring cadre for women at Bagga of Reasi district under the flagship of Sadhbhavana projects. The aim of this cadre was to assist the women folk to become self-reliant and provide employment opportunities to them. A total of 20 women from Bagga and adjoining areas attended the cadre.
The training was attended by the participants with full zeal and enthusiasm and the participants displayed keenness to acquire skill. The Training has proved to be a path-breaker and a stepping stone towards achieving the goal of self-reliance of women folk of the far flung and remote regions of the state and will help them to acquire skill to earn their living. Speaking on the occasion, the women who attended the cadre thanked the Army for enabling them to become self-reliant for the future and reduce their dependency on the male members of their families.
The Sarpanch of village said that the various initiatives by the Army, especially for the women, would assist in the all-round socio economic development of the region.
