ANANTNAG, JANUARY 05: Following adverse weather conditions, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, K.K Sidha today visited various areas to take firsthand appraisal of snow clearance operations, restoration of electricity and water supply, besides ensuring availability of essential commodities like ration, medicines, cooking gas etc in the district.
The DC visited Govt Hospital Achabal and took stock of availability of medicines, power supply and heating arrangements there.
He also visited Vessu, Monghall, Danter, Bangidar, Achabal and other areas to personally monitor the snow clearance operations in these areas. He also took stock of power and water supply in these areas.

Moreover, it has been given out that the disaster management centres along the national highway are functional to accommodate the stranded passengers with facilities of bedding, food, heating etc.
The DC has meanwhile ordered for the de-notification of emergency hospital Qazigund as Covid-19 hospital with directions for restoration of normal health care in the said hospital.
Moreover, to preempt any medical exigency due to closure of roads, health officers of twin districts of Ang and Kulgam have been directed to ensure the admission of pregnant ladies whose Expected Delivery Date(EDD) falls within next 5 days within 1 day in the nearest health institution.
