Three thieves arrested with stolen cash, other items

Police arrested three thieves along with stolen cash and other items. As per police sources, on December 13 this year, a complaint was lodged by Butti Ram, son of Thoru Ram of Kalri Bhalwal along with his mother Ramo Devi with Police Station Gharota stating that some unknown person(s) have stolen Rs 3 lakh from their house. Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 107/2020 under Section 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Gharota and investigation started. During the course of investigation, a team from Gharota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Mahesh Sharma and assisted by ASI Anwar Hussain rounded up several suspects and finally nabbed the thief. The accused has been identified as Sanjay Kumar, son of Bhushan Lal, a resident of Kalri, Bhalwal. He was a driver by profession. During investigation, the accused confessed to the commission of crime. On his disclosure, police recovered Rs 2.20 lakh cash, one LCD, 2 mattresses and one new Redmi mobile phone, all of which were purchased by accused from stolen cash. Meanwhile, Arnas police worked out a theft at butcher shop by arresting two thieves along with stolen Rs 16,050 cash. The arrested persons were identified as Tanveer Ahmad, son of Bashir Ahmad and Sabar Hussain alias Soni, son of Ibrahim, both residents of Dharmari, tehsil Thuroo. A complaint regarding theft was lodged by shop’s owner namely Shoket Ali, son of Shuma of Thuroo. Iron road and screwdriver, which were used by the accused to break open the locks of the shop, were also seized. A case under FIR Number 108/20 under Section 457 and 380 IPC stands registered against the arrested accused at Police Station Arnas and further investigation is going on. Police team led by SHO Arnas Inspector Rajesh Gautam made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Arnas Dr Satish Bhardwaj, Additional SP Reasi Surjeet Bhagat and SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir.
