COVID-19 recovery rate in country reaches 89.53 percent

India has crossed a new peak of conducting more than ten crore COVID tests till date. More than 14 lakh 42 thousand tests were conducted during the last 24 hours. The Ministry said that the country’s recovery rate among the COVID-19 patients has reached 89.53 per cent. Health Ministry said, India has come a long way from conducting just one test from the lab in Pune in January this year to crossing 10 crore one lakh tests. During the last 24 hours, more than 73 thousand COVID patients have been recovered. The total number of recoveries has reached over 69 lakh 48 thousand. The constantly increasing recoveries have ensured that the actual caseload of the country has reduced and currently comprises only 8.96 per cent of the total positive cases. Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is six lakh 95 thousand. In the last 24 hours, 54 thousand 366 new cases were reported taking the total number of positive cases in the country so far to over 77 lakh. The Ministry said, effective implementation of Centre’s strategic and graded Test-Track and Treat approach has led to higher recoveries and lower fatality. Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.51 per cent, which is one of the lowest globally. In the last 24 hours, 690 deaths were reported taking the toll to one lakh 17 thousand 306.
