President Ram Nath Kovind today said that the National Education Policy aims to reorient the education system towards meeting the needs of the 21st century. Kovind said this while inaugurating the Visitor’s Conference on Implementation of New Education Policy 2020: Higher Education through video conference. He said, the policy sets the vision of developing an equitable and vibrant knowledge society by providing quality education to all. Kovind said the National Education Policy has been prepared after extensive participation involving two lakh 50 thousand gram panchayats, more than 12 thousand 500 local bodies and about 675 districts. He said, more than two lakh suggestions have been taken into consideration. Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said, the new education policy will promote research and innovation in the country. He said, this policy will also make the country a superpower of knowledge.
