Recovery rate among country’s COVID-19 patients reaches 76.61 per cent: Govt

Union Government today said that the country’s recovery rate among the COVID-19 patients has reached to 76.61 per cent. Around 60, 868 COVID patients recovered during the last 24 hours. Health Ministry said, the total number of recoveries has reached over 27.74 lakh. The Ministry said, the last five lakh recoveries have been recorded in only eight days. The constantly increasing recoveries have ensured reduction in the actual caseload of the country and it now comprises only 21.60 per cent of the total positive cases. I t said, effective implementation of Centre’s strategic and graded ‘Test, Track and Treat’ approach has led to higher recoveries and lower fatality. Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.79 per cent, which is one of the lowest globally. According to Indian Council of Medical Research, more than 8.46 lakh tests were conducted during the last 24 hours. The total number of samples tested so far has gone up to over four crore 23 lakhs. The testing strategy also ensured a steady expansion of the national lab network. Today, with 1,004 labs in the government sector and 583 private labs, 1,587 labs are providing comprehensive testing facilities to the people.
