Government said that India’s total recoveries of COVID-19 cases have now exceeded the total active cases by nearly 16 lakhs. The Health Ministry said, a consistently increasing number of recoveries has pushed India’s recovery rate among the COVID-19 patients to nearly 75 per cent. The Health Ministry said, the constantly increasing recoveries have ensured that the actual caseload of the country has reduced and currently comprises only 23.24 per cent of the total positive cases. This has also resulted in a gradually falling mortality rate. Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.86 per cent, which is one of the lowest globally. The Ministry said, it has been made possible due to comprehensive and sustained effectiveness of the Centre’s policy of Testing aggressively, Tracking comprehensively and Treating efficiently. Higher number of recoveries and declining mortality rate among COVID patients have shown that India’s graded and pro-active strategies are delivering results on the field. During the last 24 hours, around 58 thousand COVID patients have been recovered. The total number of recoveries has reached over 22,80,000. Starting from one test in January this year through a single lab in Pune, India has exceeded cumulative tests of more than 3 crore 50 lakh tests so far. The Ministry said, the steep rise in the testing is a result of effective implementation of the aggressive testing strategy of the Centre through a focussed and graded approach. Keeping a sharp focus on the Test, Track and Treat policy, the Tests Per Million have seen a boost touching to 25,574 yesterday. The Testing strategy also ensured a steady expansion of the national lab network. Yesterday, with 983 labs in the government sector and 532 private labs, 1,515 labs are providing comprehensive testing facilities to the people.
