Anti Corruption Bureau arrests former MD of Sicop in DA case

J&K Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested Bhupinder Singh Dua, former managing director of Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (Sicop), on charges of amassing massive wealth disproportionate to the known sources of his income. In a statement, ACB said Dua had managed postings in Sicop and Sidco, and had been director of industries, J&K. He had acquired almost all the assets with ill-gotten money “earned through corrupt practices during his stint in Sicop”, the statement added. On October 14 last year, ACB had carried out raids at various places of Dua and seized gold ornaments weighing 1,834kg and 1,470kg silver, besides a huge amount of cash. During the ongoing investigation, it was discovered that Dua owns 12 factories in Jammu and a number of trucks, the statement said. Besides, he owned two houses, as many plots and four luxury vehicles, it added.
