In another major anti-militancy operation in South Kashmir, five terrorists were killed in a gunfight in Shopian on Wednesday. This is the third operation in Shopian since Sunday in which 14 terrorists have been killed so far. A senior J&K police officer confirmed that five terrorists were killed in Wednesday’s operation. The gunfight broke out in Sugoo area of Shopian this morning, the police said. On Sunday, five Hizbul terrorists were killed in a gunfight with security forces in the district’s Reban area. On Monday, four other Hizbul terrorists were killed in the Pinjoora area of Shopian, about 15 km from Reban. Sources said one of the terrorists killed has been identified as Omar Dhobi, who was active since September 2018.
