Army officer’s wife prepares sanitizers under Operation Namaste

Under the ongoing ‘Op Namaste’ launched by Indian Army to fight against the pandemic of COVID-19, one of the Electronics & Mechanical Engineers workshop of the Rising Star Corps has done a break through invention by successfully manufacturing a sanitizer which is Alcohol and Aloe Vera based and thus contributing towards preventing measures for the troops of Indian Army. The Project has been executed in Ratnuchak Military Station by Major Rohit Rathee and his wife Mrs Srishti Singh, a research scholar pursuing her PhD in Gel Based Bio Sensors Solution at VIT Vellore. The formulation of sanitizer is based on WHO Guidelines on hand hygiene in health care. Till date a total of 809 liters of sanitizer has been prepared. The per day capacity is 100 liters which can be scaled up depending upon the availability and quality of various chemicals in the local market.
