JMC installs disinfectant tunnel, organizes medical camp

Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has installed a disinfectant tunnel at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar after JMC Commissioner, Avni Lawasa directed for the same. Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor JMC and Councillors of adjoining Wards were also present on the occasion. The Gandhi Nagar Hospital has been declared as dedicated Hospital for COVID-19. Apart from sanitizing the incoming and outgoing persons from head to toe, the sanitizing tunnel has been equipped with features of efficient and closed design to avoid wastage, compact and portable design, advance mist spray system, extra mobile mist spray which can be used for sanitizing equipments and instrument including wheel chairs stretcher, LED lights for night usage. Chander Mohan, JMC Mayor while speaking on the occasion stated that it was very difficult to establish the disinfect tunnel due to lockdown, as the required material was not easily available. He also said that such Tunnels shall also be established at the entry points of all hospitals, quarantine centres, red zones and wherever else required to minimize the chances of spread of Coronavirus. Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee, Baldev Singh Boloria also spoke on the occasion. The Disinfection Tunnel has been designed and fabricated by the JMC team led by Talat Mehmood Khan, AEE (TPT) and Dharamveer Singh AE (w/shop). Meanwhile, JMC has also organized a medical camp at Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar in collaboration with the team of doctors deputed by Dr. Mohan Singh, Directorate of Indian System of Medicines. Free medicines were provided to the needy people in the medical camp.
