Govt establishes helpline for stranded J&K residents

To address issues faced by stranded residents from Jammu and Kashmir during the lockdown period in New Delhi and other parts of the country, a dedicated Helpline Centre operational 24×7 has been established in the Jammu and Kashmir Resident Commission, in New Delhi, officials said on Saturday. Additional Secretary, Rimpy Ohri is supervising the overall functioning of the Centre. Three helpline numbers have been dedicated for the purpose. An official spokesperson said the JK residents facing any issue due to lockdown may contact the helpline numbers: 24611210, 24611108, 24615475. Hundreds of students from across the country have already been facilitated by the commission to return to their home districts while several have been facilitated to stay at various dedicated Hotels in Delhi, added the official spokesperson.
