District Magistrate, Jammu Sushma Chouhan on Wednesday imposed complete ban on entry to religious places across the district, under National Disaster Management Act-2005. The ban was imposed to avoid assembly of people as a measure amid the Coronavirus threat. As per the order there will be strict restriction on assembly of worshippers, pilgrims, and devotees at temples, mosques, Gurudwara, and churches. “In order to check the transmission of CVOID-19, social distancing is a strict norm that needs to be followed at all places. Our places of workshop happen to be major centre of mass gathering,” reads the order. According to the DM, there will be complete ban on the entry of devotes and pilgrims to all places of worship with immediate effect. “These restrictions will apply to all the major religious events like Navratra, Shab-e-Miraj, and Friday prayers till March 31 whereas the religious teacher are authorized to continue to follow norms of prayers and worship,” according to the DM Jammu.
