Amid Coronavirus threat, the administration has started a fumigation drive in the district, as a precautionary measure. An official said on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal, a team of official from municipal council Ganderbal conducted the drive at different public places, including hospitals in Ganderbal and Kangan towns. The drive was supervised by chairman, municipal council Ganderbal, advocate Altaf Ahmed. The teams visited different localities to carry out the fumigation. An official said the drive will continue and more public places, particularly religious places will be fumigated. People from other localities including Gund, Wakura, Tulmulla, Lar and Safapora have urged administration to carry fumigation in their areas as well.
