Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) and Non Gazetted Employees Union of Civil Secretariat (NGEUCS) have appealed Government to ensure safety measures and sanitize all government offices in view of Coronavirus scare in Jammu and Kashmir. Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), State President, Babu Hussain Malik said the government should ensure safety and security of the employees. “The Government should announce holidays for the employees like other states in the country, and manage official work with minimum presence of employees,” said Malik. He said the employees should be allowed to work from home, instead of attending offices. “There is high risk for employees to get infected with Coronavirus when all social gatherings, bars, restaurants, teaching in Schools, Universities and Colleges are closed. Employees interact with people during working hours and there is hardly any safety measures taken by the government,” said Malik. He also demanded health related checkup of all employees across Jammu and Kashmir and their families. “We have put some suggestions before the government and we are expecting positive response,” said President, Non Gazetted Employees of Civil Secretrait, Rauf Ahmed.
