DDC reviews development works at Kishtwar

District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh Tara Sunday convened a meeting to review progress on various developmental works undertaken during the ongoing year. The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Muhammad Hanief Malik; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar; Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kishtwar Development Authority (KDA), Anil Sharma and Accounts Officer, KDA, Dalip Singh Rathore. The CEO, KDA briefed the DDC about various development works undertaken in the financial year 2019-2020 in the district under Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP), Prime Minister’s ‘s Reconstruction Plan (PMRP) and state CAPEX Budget. The CEO elaborated that about Rs two crore was being spent under the PMDP for construction of TRC at Paddar which will be completed before the commencement of Machial Yatra. He also informed that the beautification work of shrines at Bhandarkoot and Chhatroo, tourist huts at Tata Pani Paddar under PMRL scheme will also be completed soon. The DDC asked the CEO to expedite the works under these schemes so that they can be completed within the stipulated time.
He said there were great avenues of eco-tourism, pilgrimage and heritage tourism, adventure tourism like trekking, rock climbing in Kishtwar and need to be developed to its best potential so that it could benefit public of Kishtwar economically and socially.
He impressed upon the CEO for fast pacing the works of inns and toilets at Sarthal, Machail and Hud Mata Dachhan for convenience of pilgrims.
The DDC asked the CEO to take immediate steps towards beautification of historical Chowgan ground. He directed the CEO to conduct demarcations of the land and assets of the KDA to prevent any encroachments.
