Advisor Umang Narula reviewed the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna (PMUY), here on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Ladakh Saugat Biswas, Deputy Commissioner Leh Sachin Kumar Vaishya and Director, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Anil Koul. Deputy Commissioner Kargil Baseer Ul-Haq Choudhary attended the meeting through video conferencing. Director Food and Civil Supplies apprised the advisor regarding the implementation of the scheme. It was informed that a total of 11,083 beneficiaries have been provided free LPG connection under Ujjwala Yojna in Ladakh. It was also informed that 100 per cent LPG penetration is achieved in respect of both the districts of Leh and Kargil. The issues relating to transfer of subsidy amount to the bank account of the beneficiaries under Direct Benefit Transfer of LPG (DBTL) was also discussed during the meeting. The Advisor instructed Director Food Civil Supplies to identify the beneficiaries who are not getting the subsidy amount in their bank accounts due to issues of Adhaar seeding and linking of bank accounts with Adhaar. He also instructed the DC to hold periodic meetings to address the issues relating to the implementation of the scheme. Later, the Advisor reviewed issues relating to winter stocking and transportation of food grains. He issued instructions for taking all necessary steps relating to winter stocking for the next year well in advance. He asked Divisional Commissioner Ladakh to examine all the alternatives available for transportation of food grains to the distribution centres.
