Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh arrested an accused for raping a minor girl. As per details, Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh received a complaint of an alleged rape of a minor girl by a shopkeeper. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No 20/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh and further investigation was initiated. A police team immediately tracked accused and arrested him. Identified as Fazil Salim, resident of Batwara, Srinagar, the accused has been shifted to Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh. “As a part of investigation necessary medico-legal examination of victim was also carried out. All standard operating procedures as mandated under POCSO act are being followed to deter criminals from committing such heinous crimes. Further investigation in the matter is going on,” a police official said.
