With the aim to create awareness on first aid training amongst students and local population in remote areas where medical facilities are scarce, Army organised awareness lecture on “First Aid Trg” at Government High School, Sandot in Poonch District. A large number of youth and locals from village Sandot and adjoining villagers attended the event. The main focus of this lecture was on imparting knowledge on managing cases of snake bite cases, fractures, burn injuries and control of bleeding in case of minor accidents. Youth were taught about first aid measures to be adopted in such circumstances and thereby save life or limb. This initiative was greatly appreciated by the locals and they expressed their gratitude for the knowledge imparted to them. Such events definitely have a lasting impact on villagers of remote and inaccessible areas that are devoid of basic medical facilities.
