To provide an appropriate platform for the budding players of rural areas, Army organised a Friendly Volleyball Tournament at Village Bhala, Bhaderwah. Bhala village is located in one of the remotest areas and lacks adequate recreational / sporting facilities for the youth. Conduct of such sporting events inculcates a feeling of sportsmanship and camaraderie amongst the youth of diverse backgrounds. It is imperative that youth be engaged in constructive activities to wean them away from separatist ideology and bring them to national mainstream through conduct of sporting competitions while also allowing them to showcase their undiscovered talent. A large number of local people of Bhala and nearby villages were in attendance to witness the match. Trophy and medals were distributed to the winner and runner up team. Local populace of the region appreciated the efforts of the Army in promoting and organizing such events and expressed that these events will help to win the goodwill of the locals and promote sports in the region and further facilitate youth empowerment at the grass root level.
