J&K Basketball teams leave for nationals

State Youth (under 16) boys and girls teams left for the national basketball championships scheduled to be held at Coimbatore from May 14 to May 21, 2019. The teams were screened by the screening committee of the J&K State Sports Council headed by Divisional sports officer Jammu, Ravi Singh at the basketball arena of the MA stadium. The teams were attending a ten day coaching camp at the same venue following open trials on the May 1, 2019. The boys team comprised of Rishab Walter, Aniket Chib, Jayan Rathi, Prince Tanwar, Bilal Choudhary (all STC Jammu) Shushant Shehriya, Ritik Sharma, Rinu Tomar (all APS Ratnuchak), Yuvraj Singh (APS Kaluchak), Adeeb Wani, Ahmed Nisar (both Srinagar) and Jatin Gandotra. Mir Mursaleen is accompanying the team as Coach. The girls’ team included Sugandhi Sharma, Vedehi Mattoo, Rinki Tomar, Arushi Sharma, Kashish, Ravroop, Myeisha Najeeb, Maria Ejaz, Preeti Sharma, Rimjim, Sakshi, Anupriya and Ujjwal. Abhishek Sharma is accompanying the team as Coach.
