Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana today conducted a public darbar at Gool in Ramban district, providing a platform for residents to voice their grievances, developmental concerns and demands directly before the administration and elected representatives. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of residents, public representatives, social activists and stakeholders from different areas of Sub-Division Gool.
During the interaction, people highlighted a wide range of issues concerning infrastructure development, education, healthcare, transport connectivity, employment opportunities, banking services, tourism promotion and welfare schemes. Residents urged the authorities to address long-pending developmental needs and improve essential public services in the region.
Several demands related to the education sector were raised during the public darbar. Participants sought the establishment of a polytechnic college in the area to provide technical education and skill development opportunities for local youth. They also stressed the need to strengthen educational infrastructure and improve facilities in schools and other institutions to ensure better access to quality education.
Transport connectivity emerged as another major concern. Residents demanded improved road and rail connectivity to facilitate easier movement of people and goods. They emphasized that better transportation infrastructure would not only enhance accessibility but also contribute significantly to the economic development of the region.
The public also highlighted the need for improved sports infrastructure to encourage youth participation in sports and recreational activities. Demands were raised for the development of playgrounds, sports facilities and other infrastructure that could help nurture local talent and promote healthy lifestyles among young people.
Participants further sought the strengthening of healthcare facilities and better access to essential public services. Concerns regarding banking facilities in Gool were also brought to the attention of the Member of Parliament, with residents demanding improved banking infrastructure and financial services to meet the growing needs of the population.
Tourism development featured prominently during the discussions. Local stakeholders pointed out the immense tourism potential of the region and called for the creation of tourism infrastructure, better promotion of local attractions and improved facilities for visitors. They stated that tourism development could generate employment opportunities and contribute to the economic upliftment of local communities.

Issues related to minority welfare, legal facilities and land rights were also raised. Participants emphasized the need for effective implementation of the Forest Rights Act and urged the authorities to address concerns related to land ownership and rights of eligible beneficiaries.
Addressing the gathering, Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana assured the public that all genuine demands and grievances would be taken up with the appropriate authorities for necessary action. He emphasized the importance of inclusive and people-centric development and said that every effort would be made to ensure that developmental benefits reach all sections of society.
The Member of Parliament directed officers concerned to ensure timely redressal of public grievances and stressed that local youth should be actively engaged in ongoing construction and development projects. He observed that greater participation of local youth in developmental works would help generate employment opportunities and improve livelihoods in the region.
During the programme, Khatana reviewed the progress of various developmental projects and sought on-the-spot responses from departmental officers regarding issues raised by the public. Several grievances were resolved during the darbar itself, while instructions were issued for immediate action on other pending matters.
Among those present were Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gool Imtiaz Ahmed, Tehsildar Gool Harjeet Singh, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Kuldeep Raj, Block Development Officer Saddam Hussain, Chief Education Officer Ramban Shakeel Ahmed, Naib Tehsildar Intekhab Ahmed, Zonal Education Officer Abdul Rehman, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Sanjay Sharma, Range Officer Sajid Ahmed, Child Development Project Officer Bashir Ahmed Malik, Assistant Executive Engineer PWD, Block Medical Officer Gool, Assistant Executive Engineer JPDCL Mohammad Iqbal and officers from various line departments. The public darbar concluded with assurances that the issues raised would be pursued vigorously to ensure faster development and improved public service delivery across the Gool sub-division.
