BJP Kisan Morcha organized a significant farmers’ outreach meeting in Samba to discuss issues concerning the farming community and spread awareness about various farmer-centric initiatives launched by the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting witnessed the participation of party leaders, office bearers, and farmers from different parts of the district.
The programme was attended by BJP Vice President J&K and Prabhari Samba District Rekha Mahajan, District President Asha Rani, BJP Kisan Morcha State Spokesperson and Prabhari Samba Ravi Kumar, District President Kisan Morcha Ajay Kumar, General Secretaries Mohinder Singh Mankotia and Parveen Sharma.
Addressing the gathering, Rekha Mahajan said that the Narendra Modi-led government has ushered in a new era of agricultural development by placing farmers at the centre of policymaking.
She highlighted several flagship schemes and reforms aimed at improving farmers’ income, strengthening agricultural infrastructure and promoting sustainable farming practices.
She elaborated on major initiatives including PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), Soil Health Cards, promotion of natural farming, food processing initiatives, millet cultivation under the “Shree Anna” campaign, and technology-driven agriculture. She also referred to the government’s decision to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Kharif crops, stating that it ensures remunerative prices and greater financial security for farmers.
Mahajan said that schemes such as PM-Kisan provide direct financial assistance to farmers, while Kisan Credit Cards ensure easy and affordable access to credit.

She noted that PM Fasal Bima Yojana has significantly reduced farmers’ vulnerability to crop losses caused by natural calamities, and the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund is helping create modern agricultural infrastructure across the country. She added that the use of drones, digital technologies, AI-based farming solutions and improved market linkages is transforming India’s agricultural landscape.
Asha Rani in her address raised concerns regarding challenges faced by farmers in border areas of Samba district, including crop damage, irrigation shortages, stray animal menace and losses caused by adverse weather conditions. She emphasized the need for timely compensation and assured farmers that BJP would continue to raise their concerns before the appropriate authorities.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravi Kumar reiterated BJP’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible beneficiary receives the benefits of government welfare schemes. He also highlighted the role of BJP Kisan Morcha as a bridge between farmers and the government, while Ajay Kumar stressed the importance of regular interaction with farmers for addressing their concerns effectively.
During the meeting, participants held detailed discussions on crop losses, compensation mechanisms, irrigation facilities, natural farming, agricultural innovation, food processing opportunities and welfare measures for border-area farmers. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the farming sector and ensuring that the benefits of the Modi Government’s agricultural reforms reach every farmer in the region.
