Seventeen persons were injured in clashes with the security forces near the site of a gunfight in Adkhara village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.
Reports said that three out of seventeen persons hit by pellets were referred to a hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment. One among the injured has suffered a bullet injury in his leg following which he was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Earlier, the killing of three militants during a gunfight with the security forces in triggered violent protests in Adkhara.
An official said the security forces called off the operation following the killing of three militants.He said the identification of the slain militants is being ascertained.
