Police in major break through succeed in busting the two wheeler lifters gang operating in Kathua and seized 25 stolen two wheelers from their custody. Two members of gang were arrested and police is investigating the case to make more arrest in the case. While addressing the media persons, Superintendent of Police Kathua, Sridhar Patil said that following the numbers of two wheeler theft cases in the Kathua, police team has been made active and they kept a tight vigil on two wheeler lifters. Police succeed in arresting two members of the gang operating in Kathua area and seized 25 two wheelers which included the scooties, motor cycles etc.He said that they operate in busy chowks of the town to lift the two wheelers and by using master key they unlock the passion, splendor and super splendor motor cycle. They change the number plates of stolen vehicles to dodge the police on the way to Punjab and other areas to sell them. They sell the vehicle on cheapest rates and some more people are involved in the two-wheeler lifting, he added. He said police is investigating the matter and more arrest are likely to be possible. He said the arrested gang members were identified as Rehmat Ali alias Ramtu, son of Alam Din resident of Rajbagh, Kathua and Ravinder Saini, son of Ramesh Saini resident of Nagari, Kathua. Additional SP, Ramnish Gupta and Dy SP, Nikhil Rasgotra were also present in the press conference.
