Shiv Sena Hindustan, Jammu Kashmir Unit, organized a massive protest rally at Arnia, a border area, against the alleged injustice faced by Hindus in admission to the Medical College run by Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. The rally was led by Pandit Rajesh Kesri, President, Shiv Sena Hindustan, Jammu Kashmir Unit.
Addressing the gathering, Kesri criticized the government for its alleged apathy towards Hindus and accused it of perpetuating injustice. He highlighted the struggles of the people of Jammu in their fight for rights, citing the 1969 agitation for Jammu University and the demand for a Central University.
Kesri pointed out that despite Jammu Kashmir being named after Kashyap Rishi, Hindus have been allegedly denied their rightful share in the Medical College.
He claimed that only 7 out of 50 seats have been reserved for Hindus, which he termed as “gross injustice”. Kesri demanded that the government reconsider its decision and allocate seats reserved for other communities to other colleges, enabling Hindus to get their alleged rightful share. He warned the government that if it does not take immediate action, the agitation will spread to other parts of the state.
The rally was attended by several prominent leaders, including Sanjeev Sharma, Rajkumar, Balwant Saini, Suresh Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Brahmddev, Om Prakash, Gara Ram, Satpal, Vijay Luthra, Balvir Kumar, Darshan Devi, Rajni Devi, Geeta Devi, and Vijay Devi, among others.
