NCC Cadets Organize Cleanliness Drive at Statue of Martyr L/Nk Mohinder Kumar SharmaDH NEWS SERVICE

The NCC Unit of Dogra Degree College organized a cleanliness drive at the statue of Martyr L/Nk Mohinder Kumar Sharma at Ranjiri on 20th August 2025. Cadets from Bravo Company visited the adopted statue, cleaned the site, and paid floral tribute to the brave soldier who laid down his life during Operation Rakshak-3 in 2000.
The statue was inaugurated by the Commanding Officer of 19 Dogra on behalf of the Commanding Officer of 16 Dogra Unit in honour of the martyr’s supreme sacrifice. This initiative not only helped preserve the memorial but also instilled a spirit of responsibility, discipline, and respect among the youth. The event began with a solemn tribute, attended by cadets, community members, and local leaders. The cleaning activities included washing the statue, tidying the surroundings, and minor landscaping. NCC cadets, in full turnout, worked diligently to ensure the site remained clean and welcoming. Principal Dr. Bela Thakur congratulated the NCC unit for their dedication and appreciated their contribution to society and nature. The programme was conducted under the guidance of CTO/ANO Mr. Gulshan Sharma with the participation of 15 NCC cadets of Bravo Company.
