Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr. Devansh Yadav today conducted an extensive tour of Ward No. 52 to take stock of the people’s grievances and their developmental needs. At Ambedkar Nagar Extension, Trikuta Nagar, the locals met with the Commissioner and projected their grievances regarding the problems being faced by the residents due to the drainage system. They informed that the area faces flood like situation during rainy season in general and monsoon season in particular as the channel is unable to take the rain water causing hardship to the residents. Acknowledging their grievances, Dr. Yadav directed the concerned to expedite demarcation of nallahs so that the widening work could be undertaken at the earliest for the convenience of the residents. He also urged upon residents to remove encroachments along the Nallah, if any, which obstruct its cleaning and maintenance. Dr. Yadav also instructed the concerned to ensure proper drainage solutions to mitigate the recurring issue and improve the living conditions of the residents. Among others, Deputy Commissioner (South), Lal Chand and Executive Engineer, UEED, JMC Ashwani Khajura, Chief Transport Officer Dharamveer Singh besides other senior officers of JMC accompanied the Commissioner during the tour.
